Editorial Policy
K-Mens Care is a translation publication. We read Korean-language sources about men's grooming and skincare — community reviews, retailer editorials, and brand information — and translate what matters into English. This page explains how we choose sources, how translation works, and how we attribute the original material.
What we translate
Our coverage draws on Korean-language primary sources that have no English edition:
- Hwahae (화해) — Korea's largest cosmetics review app, where men rate and discuss cleansers, moisturizers, sunscreen, and grooming products. We translate consensus across reviews, not single opinions.
- Olive Young 맨즈에딧 — the men's edit from Korea's dominant health-and-beauty retailer, used for product lineups, rankings, pricing, and availability.
- Glowpick (글로우픽) — a Korean review platform with ranked product awards, useful for tracking what Korean men actually buy and rate highly.
How sources are selected
- For product claims and ingredient details, we prefer brand statements and retailer listings over secondhand marketing.
- For quality and value questions, we look for consensus across many Hwahae and Glowpick reviews rather than a single rating — popularity and sponsorship can distort individual scores.
- We do not translate sponsored placements or brand advertorial as if it were independent editorial. When a Korean source is clearly promoting its own product, we either skip it or label it.
How translation works
We use AI translation tools (including large language models such as Claude by Anthropic) to read and draft translations from Korean, with editorial review before publication. Specifically:
- AI does the heavy lifting: reading Korean source pages, drafting English translations, and summarizing review consensus across many posts.
- Editorial review covers the claims: product names, brands, ingredients, prices, and ratings are checked against the original source before publishing.
- Terminology is standardized: Korean grooming terms are given in Hangul with a plain-English explanation on first use, so readers can cross-reference Korean listings.
- Translation is interpretation. Where a Korean phrase has no clean English equivalent — texture and finish vocabulary is the classic case — we explain rather than force a one-word translation.
Attribution
Every article that draws on a Korean source cites that source, with a link to the original Korean page where one exists. We treat the original platforms and brands as the authority — we are the translation layer, not the origin of the data.
Skincare is informational, not medical advice
Korean men's grooming covers real skincare — cleansers, moisturizers, sunscreen, and routines. Our content is informational and educational only. It is not dermatological or medical advice. Grooming and skincare products can cause irritation or allergic reactions; patch-test new products and consult a dermatologist about any skin condition or concern.
Independence and affiliate disclosure
- No brand pays for coverage, placement, or ratings. Assessments reflect the Korean source data, not commercial relationships.

Corrections
Korean product lineups, pricing, and rankings change. If you find an error — a mistranslation, an outdated price, a misattributed brand — email us and we will verify against the original source and correct the article, noting the update date.
